Working together in faith to do God's work

Music

With a song in our heart....

St. Paul's is fortunate to have many opportunities to participate in worship through music.  Mr. John C. Tyner, who is retired as the Director of Music for Monroe Public Schools, is the Director of Music at St. Paul's. The organist is Thomas Weessies.  Music presented during the worship services is an eclectic mix of standard church fare, with occasional contemporary selections included.  In addition to choral music, special music is supplied at all services.  These offerings include solos, small groups, and instrumental selections.

The Chancel Choir consists of high school through adult-age members.  The Chancel Choir, on alternating Sundays, provides music at both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services from September through June each year.  In addition to providing anthems at these services, they prepare an Advent and Lenten Cantata each year.  Mr. Tyner directs the Chancel Choir.  Choir practice is held each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Upper Level Room 205.   Click here for Chancel Choir Schedule.

The Praise Ringers is a hand bell choir and is open to high school through adult age groups.  You do not need to be able to read music to participate with this choir.  Practices are held most Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 p.m.  Those interested in more information may contact leader Colleen Baker.

The Sunshine Choir is composed of children in grades one through three.  They take part in the Wednesday evening Christ Kids program and sing in church every other month.  Mr. John Fedosky, music teacher with Monroe Public Schools, directs the Sunshine Choir

The Alleluia Choir consists of fourth through sixth graders and like the Sunshine Choir, takes part in the Christ Kids programs and sings in church once each month.  Mr. Fedosky directs the Alleluia Choir.

The Children's Chimes Choir is for girls and boys in 4th through 6th grades.  Meeting times are on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m., precedingChrist's Kids.  Please discuss any questions with leaders Standra McMurray or Cindy Miller.

The Youth Praise Band includes students and young adults wanting to create contemporary worship through music.  To get involved, contact Brad Luck.

The
Praise & Worship Dance Group is open to 1st graders through adults wanting to express worship through dance. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, from 7:30-8:00 p.m., in conjunction with Christ's Kids meeting dates.  Tara Poniewozik leads this group.
