Working together in faith to do God's work

UM Women

September brings the start of the UMW activities for 2008/9.  All women are invited to join us.  The first meeting of the year is Thursday, Sept. 4 in the Fellowship Hall.  Co-Presidents are Carol Hartong and Wanda Barton.  The purpose of UMW is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Three salad luncheons are held in the fall to raise monies to meet our annual pledge to the Missions of the Detroit District UMW.  Luncheons are scheduled for Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13, 2008. Another mission is to prepare a funeral luncheon whenever the need arises.  This preparation is carried out under the direction of Maxine Clute with the asistance of many willing hands.  A third mission is to make available copies of the Upper Room for all person in our congregation.  These are found in the entrance way to the fellowship hall and are free for the taking.
