Horizons
Welcome to the Horizons' Page!
Horizons is an adult Sunday school class dedicated to studying both the Bible and the foundations of our faith, striving to apply this knowledge and insight to everyday life and situations. The class meets from 10:00 - 11:00 in one of the classrooms in the basement. We have a wide range of ages in this class and this leads to broad discussions with perspectives from different age groups. The members of our class are very supportive of each other and welcome new members warmly.

This year, our 3 Sunday school teachers are offering us a variety of lessons and topics for discussion.
Horizons' events section has been updated for the 2009 - 2010 year. We have numerous events planned and more to come, such as a possible scavenger hunt!

10/28/09 - Wednesday 5:30 PM Trunk or Treat! Halloween Pot-luck and Family game night. Our class supplies sloppy joes, hot dogs and pop!
11/28/09 - Saturday 4:30 PM Festival of Trees. Meet at St. Paul's to enjoy a family event which includes dinner and tree festival.
12/5/09 - Saturday 8:30 AM Eastern Market. Meet at St. Paul's and head up to Detroit's Eastern Market. We will stop for lunch too.
12/13/09 - Sunday 12:15 PM Christmas Pot-luck and White Elephant Exchange. A family event - bring your favorite dish to pass and table service for your family. After we enjoy our dinner, children will have a chance to play the Wii while parents exchange crazy Christmas gifts.
1/17/10 - Sunday 12:15 PM Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction This is a fundraiser for Brad Luck who is entering seminary. Bring your best chili and the recipe plus a basket to auction off.
2/13/10 - Saturday 6:00 PM Valentine's Day Couples outing to Mediterrano's Restaurant in Ann Arbor. We will make reservations for 6 PM. Please let us know in advance if you can make it.
2/16/10 - Tuesday 4:30 PM GodWorks Meal Our class will prepare and serve a community dinner at St. Paul's. Come at 4:30 or any time after to help with this effort.
3/13/10 - Saturday 6:00 PM Spaghetti Warehouse in Toledo. Bring the whole family and enjoy fun and fellowship at this very reasonably priced restaurant.
4/23/10 - 4/25/10 Girl's Weekend to Chicago! Details to follow.
5/15/10 - Saturday 5:30 Progressive Dinner Enjoy appetizers, soup, salad and dessert as we travel from house to house.
Horizons' Prayer Requests:
- Please remember all of our military personnel and their families during these difficult times and as the holidays approach
- Prayers are offered for the family of Jolinda Linn as they cope with her sudden death
- Jenni Pirlot's secretary, who is a breast cancer survivor, recently found a lump under her arm on the same side as her breast cancer was. Please pray that this is benign.
