May 26, 2019
Dear Members and Friends of St. Paul’s U.M.C.,
Rev. Dr. Tracy Huffman will begin a medical leave on June 1 related to health concerns and complications of her epilepsy. She will then transition to a voluntary long-term medical leave effective July 1, 2019. Her last day in our pulpit was May 26, but she will be with us on June 2 to receive our thanks during the fellowship time.
We are grateful to Dr. Tracy for bringing to St. Paul’s her faith, her gracious, kind manner, leadership in small group studies and the membership class, and her devotion to serving her church. We are also grateful to her husband, Bob, for sharing his musical talent and adding a welcome new dimension to our worship. We wish Dr. Tracy improved health and richly deserved peace. Please lift both she and Bob up in prayer as they begin this challenging period of change and transition.
During the worship service on Sunday, May 26, it was announced that Bishop David A. Bard, Episcopal leader of the Michigan Conference, has appointed Rev. Melodye VanOudheusden to serve as pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, effective July 1, 2019. Her first Sunday in our pulpit will be July 7th.
Rev. VanOudheusden will be coming to us from the Evart United Methodist Church, where she has been a pastor for the past seven years. She has been in the ministry for twenty-five years, seven of which she served in Southeast Asia. We are pleased to welcome her and her husband John to St. Paul’s.
During the month of June, please contact the church office and they will put you in touch with Rev. Brad Lewis, or one of our other pastoral contacts to help to meet your needs.
In Christ’s Service ,
