Cathy is one of our office employees. She works along with Susan Myers to help keep the church running smoothly.
Cathy married Christopher in July 2011 and the couple began attending St. Paul’s UMC shortly after that when Christopher was hired as a youth leader at St. Paul’s. Cathy was hired to work with Chris the following year, and they have considered St. Paul’s their home ever since.
They had to resign as youth leaders in December 2013 when Christopher was assigned a pastoral charge at two United Methodist churches in Milan.
Cathy applied in April 2018 for one of the office positions here and has been delighted to come to work each day.
Cathy and Christopher live in Monroe with their three cats, Max, Ruby, and Luna. She said you can come into the office to see their pictures any time you like, and she’ll gladly talk about them as long as you can stand it!
Along with her cats and her husband, Cathy loves meditation, Starbucks caramel macchiatos, true crime, and Bob’s Burgers.
Jeanette is our church treasurer. She grew up in St. Louis, MO. Both of her parents were teachers and her family moved to Birmingham, MI when she was in high school and her father became Assistant Superintendent of Birmingham Public Schools. She met her husband, John that same year at Beverly Hills UMC. They attended UMYF and sang in the youth choir together. After high schools, she went back to Missouri to attend William Woods College and majored in Home Ec with minors in French and English Literature. She and John graduated from college in 1974 and got married that June. They arrived in Monroe later that summer when John was hired by Monroe Public Schools. They joined St. Paul’s in 1977.
After their daughter, Jennifer, was born, Jeanette was a stay-at-home mom until she was hired as Treasurer of St. Paul’s in July, 1991. In 1994, she also was hired by Monroe Public Schools as an instructional Assistant and did her St. Paul’s work before and after school. Retiring from MPS in 2015, she has become a volunteer every Monday at Manor Elementary to work in her grandchildren’s classrooms.
During her time at St. Paul’s Jeanette has been involved in the UMW, serving as President and Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, is a member of Eve Circle, has taught Sunday School, and has been in the choir since joining the church. As the treasurer, she also serves on the Finance Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, knitting and cross-stitch, gardening (although her knees disagree) and spending time with her grand-kids, Jack and Kate.
