Reverend Rey Mondragon - Pastor

Pastor Rey has been serving as an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church since July 1, 2008. Pastor Rey’s goal is to find ways with the congregation to develop a shared vision for ministry in the local community while being part of the connectional life in the United Methodist Church. He believes that a shared vision makes us stronger while we embrace being the church through the mission and ministries we support in the immediate communities where we are and beyond through our connectional system of the United Methodist Church.

Cathy Butson - Office Manager

Cathy works to help keep the church running smoothly. Cathy started in April 2018 and has been delighted to come to work each day since. Cathy and her husband Christopher live in Ypsilanti with their three cats, Max, Ruby, and Luna. You can come into the office to see their pictures any time you like, and she’ll gladly talk about them as long as you can stand it! Along with her cats and her husband, Cathy loves meditation, Starbucks caramel macchiatos, true crime, and Bob’s Burgers.

Emilie La Roux - Treasurer

Before working at St. Paul’s, Emilie worked as a Montessori toddler teacher and a school music teacher. She began work as treasurer in 2021 under the training and guidance of Jeanette Fedosky who had held that position for 30 years! She and her husband Jeff enjoy playing in the Monroe County Community College Band and in other community organizations. They have one daughter, Lydia, who is also involved in making music.

Alisha Cooley - Christian Education Director

Alisha began serving St. Paul’s as the Christian Education Director in 2002. From Sunday school to VBS to all church programming. She helps lead volunteers to ‘make disciples to send out into the world’. She is a member of St. Paul’s U.M.C., and also serves the United Women in Faith in the role of President. Alisha’s family includes her husband Kyle and her three daughters, Madeleine, Alexa, and Audrey with Gods creatures Mia the dog and Java Bean the cat.

Staci Dreger - Director of Music Ministries / Pianist / Organist

Staci is a former music teacher for Monroe Public Schools. In addition to serving as the Director of Music for St. Paul's, Staci offers private piano instruction at Arpeggio Piano Studio in Monroe, MI, and accompanies multiple school choirs in the Monroe County area.

John Tyner - Chancel Choir Director

John is the former Coordinator of K-12 Music for Monroe Public Schools and has served as the Director of Music / Chancel Choir Director for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church from1984 to 2024.

Catherine Brodie - Praise Ringers Director

Cathy holds both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastern Michigan University. She taught music education for Monroe Public Schools for 25 years. Additionally, she taught part-time at EMU for 20 years and at MCCC part-time for 12 years.
